In 1947, Sir Peter Medawar was appointed Mason Professor of Zoology on the university. His function associated investigating the phenomenon of tolerance and transplantation immunity. He collaborated with Rupert E. Billingham and they did exploration on difficulties of pigmentation and pores and skin grafting in cattle. They applied skin grafting to
